Boundless. A single word that aptly sums up Chef Janice Wong.
An artist in her own right, Chef Wong's refined and ever-evolving dessert creations constantly blur the boundaries between sweet and savoury. The 27-year-old chef/owner possesses a natural talent and technical skill far beyond her years, thanks to intense training at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, arguably the world's most reputed culinary academy.
Upon her return to Singapore, Chef Janice Wong's first professional step was at Les Amis, following which she placed as runner-up in Channel 8's inaugural Star Chef Competition, before she started her very own 2am: dessertbar. Chef Wong's culinary adventures have taken her to Paris, New York, Chicago and most recently to all over Spain where she has staged with some of the world's greatest chefs.
As further testament to her extraordinary talent and recognition in the international scene, Chef Wong was selected as the sole Asian representative competing against seven other pastry chefs from around the world at 2010 Madrid Fusion's prestigious C³ Competition, the forefront global gastronomia forum.
Combine this with her impeccable eye for design, intense passion and persistence, and the result is a rising star in the international pastry scene, one to watch closely in the years to come.
